Do you know the temperature of the water you are brewing with? I installed a nifty invention from the mind of Eric Svendson. "Eric's Thermocouple T.C. Adaptor", allows you to replace the M6 bolt in your group with a thermocouple. You can now measure the temp of the water during your HX flush/water dance and during your brew. The temperature is measured inches above the screen, inside the brew water path. This guide will instruct you on how to measure the temperature of your brew water in your E61 espresso machine. This photo shows the M6 bolt removed from the group of my Expobar Office Pulser. This is Erics adaptor in place but with out the actual thermocouple installed. You can choose to have the T.C. in there or you can cover it with a provided nut to cover the empty hole. The adaptor with T.C. installed and ready to check brew temp. It is not a permanent installation, and is completely reversable. However, I wont take this thing out anytime soon. I will probably stil use it in future machines. This modification has made using my Expobar Office Pulser so much more enjoyable. I can flush to a desired temp, at will, between shots. I can experiment very easy and find the temp I like for a particular bean. I think that knowing the temp you are brewing at is really worthwhile. I think everyone needs one of these. This chart is for an anita but from my experience the temps are very similar on my pulser. they follow a very similar pattern as well.
